YANGON – BAGAN – INLE LAKE

Day 1 : Arrive Yangon by morning flight. (D)
Arrive in Yangon and transfer to hotel. Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is still a relatively quiet and charming city. Its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes Yangon one of the most fascinating and authentic capitals of South-East Asia. After lunch, a city tour includes the National Museum, Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda’s 70m long reclining Buddha, downtown Yangon - Sule Pagoda, Mahabandoola Park with Independent Monument and have a memorable scene of colonial building & atmosphere, India town and bustling China town. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2 : Yangon-Bagan by morning flight. (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel transfer to airport for the flight to Bagan. Thousands of ancient stupas and temples in this area make Bagan, one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in Asia. From the 11th till 13th century, when Bagan was the capital of Myanmar, the rulers of constructed huge stupas and temples, many of which are still standing today on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. On arrival, morning sightseeing features the colourful Nyaung Oo Market, the Shwezigon Pagoda and its magnificent golden stupa, Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi, a cave temple with exquisite jatakas murals paintings and the elegant Htilominlo Temple noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations. In the afternoon observe the process of traditional lacquerware, one of the best-known Myanmar handicrafts and a speciality of Bagan. Visit Ananda, an architectural masterpiece of the early-style temple with two original standing Buddha images whose facial expressions change depending on the distance the statue is viewed from. The Ananda Okkyaung is one of the few surviving brick monasteries from the early Bagan period and the next temple to be visited, Thatbyinnyu, is the highest in Bagan, rising to 61m. End the day with a horse and carriage tour among the temples passing by the traditional village of Taungbi, Sulamani Temple and the massive Dhammayangyi Temple noted for its remarkable brickwork. Enjoy the sunset over the site from the upper terrace of Temple. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 3 : Bagan-Heho-Inle Lake by morning flight. (B/L)
In the morning transfer to Nyaung Oo Airport for the flight to Heho. From Heho a one hour scenic drive leads to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway village to Inle Lake. Board a private motor boat to visit Inle Lake, one of Myanmar’s best-known sights. The boat passes several villages built on stilts over the lake, which are mostly inhabited by Intha people, the famous leg-rowing fishermen of the lake. The tour also includes a visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and a cheroot factory, where the typical Burmese cigars are made by hand. Overnight at Inle Lake.
Day 4 : Inle Lake-Heho-Yangon by evening flight. (B/L)
After breakfast, a morning sightseeing tour of Inle Lake by boat includes a chance to see the floating gardens built up from strips of water hyacinth and mud and anchored to the bottom with bamboo poles. Every five days a colourful market that is visited by different hill tribes is held around the Inle area and it is normally possible to visit one of these depending on location. In the afternoon visit the renowned jumping cat monastery where in addition to the acrobatic cats there is a beautiful collection of antique Buddha statues. On leaving the lake transfer to Heho Airport for the flight back to Yangon. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 5 : Depart Yangon (B/L)
After breakfast finish the tour with a visit to Myanmar’s holiest monument, the Shwedagon Pagoda with its golden stupa covered with 60 tons of pure gold leaf. In the afternoon there is free time for shopping at Bogyoke Market, formerly Scott’s Market, before transferring to Mingaladon Airport for onward flight.

Check in hotel and lunch at Restaurant. Evening visit to Lacquer-ware making home cottage; Myinkaba Gubyaukgyi Temple - known for its wall paintings depicting scenes from the Jataka; Sulamani Temple and Dhamanyangyi Temple. Evening, sunset view of Bagan from Shwesandaw Pagoda. Dinner at Nandar Restaurant which one is the best one in Bagan with puppet show. Overnight at Hotel in Bagan.
Day 3 : Bagan Sightseeing. (B/L)
After breakfast at hotel, visit to Minanthu village, Payathonzu Pagoda, Nandamanya Pagoda, Laymyathna Pagoda & Monestery - the oldest monestery in Bagan in 13 century. Visit to Phwasaw village - where can see the typical Myanmar villagers life. After lunch, free at leisure. Evening sightseeing at Manuha Temple, Bu Phaya and enjoy the boat trip along the river and having a beautiful sun-set including soft drink & snack. Dinner at restaurant. Overnight at Hotel in Bagan.
Day 4 : Bagan – Mandalay by morning flgiht. (B/L)
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for flight to Mandalay. Meet & transfer to hotel. After check in hotel, sightseeing Mandalay to Mahamuni Image - a bronze Buddha image castled during the lifetime of Buddha himself, Golf Leaf making cottage, Tapestry works; Wood carving & bronze castling workshops; Marble carving workshop and silk weaving home cottage. After lunch, free and leisure at hotel. Early evening continues visit to: Mandalay Palace, and finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to watch the sunset and the panoramic view of the city. Day 5 : Mandalay-Amarapura-Mingun by boat. (B/L)
After breakfast at hotel, visit Amarapura - an ancient capital built on the advice of astrologers. Tour highlights are: Mahagandaryone Monastery - where one may observe the daily life of the monks studying Buddha's scriptures; and U Beins Bridge - 1.2 km long over 200 years old wooden bridge. After lunch, proceed to Mingun where the world largest ringing bell exist and cruise down the Ayeyarwaddy River. Sightseeing Mingun village and environs. Back to Mandalay by boat enjoying the scene of Romantic River view and sun-set. Dinner at restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Mandalay.
Day 6 : Mandalay - Heho/Inle by morning flight. (B/L)
Proceed to Pindaya. After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport. Fly to Heho. Proceed to Pindaya. Visit Pindaya Cave (famous for its Mysterious cave of countless centuries old Buddha Images) and Bambooed Umbrella Workshop. Lunch at Pindaya. Dinner and overnight in Pindaya.
Day 7 : Pindaya - Inle Sightseeing. (B/L)
After breakfast at hotel, Drive to Nyaung Shwe. Boat trip to Inle Lake - the second biggest lake in Myanmar famous for its unique leg rollers. to Kabaaye Tour highlights include visit to: floating market (available to see on the market days only which is hold on every five days); Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda; Inpawkhone Village - famous for its silk weaving handlooms; Ngaphechaung Monastery - well known because of jumping cats; traditional ways of fishing; and floating gardens. Day 8 : Inle/ Heho – Yangon by morning flight. (B/L)

Day 1 : Arrival to Yangon. (D)
Arrival to Yangon Airport. Meet and Greet at the airport by local guide. Transfer to Hotel for check in. Visit Sule Pagoda, Mahabandoola Park Independent Monument – the heart of Yangon City surrounded by memorable scene of various colonial style buildings. Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, visit Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha, Shwedagon Pagoda – 2500 years old the world famous stupa having a beautiful sun-set and Nan Thida Jetty. Welcome dinner at restaurant with cultural show. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2 : Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo. (B/L)
Breakfast at Hotel. Visit Htautkyant War Cemetery. Drive to Bago. Visit Kyat Khat Wine Monastery and have splendid scene of offering alms food to thousand monks and Bago Market. Lunch at restaurant. Proceed to Kyaikhtiyo, one of Myanmar’s Landmarks which is famous for its precarious position and religious importance: KYAIKHTIYO the ‘Golden Rock’, a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. To reach the pagoda from KIN PUN a steep 11 km road leads to the upper staging point by truck. The upper area must be traveled by foot, at present, and the walk is approximately 4 km (1 hour) up a steep path and ascend some 500 m to the GOLDEN ROCK Pagoda. On arrival you can enjoy the beautiful sun-set. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3 : Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon. (B/L)
Breakfast at Hotel. Drive to Bago. Visit Kambawzathadi Palace. Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha, Cheroot Factory, Weaving Factory in Mon Village, Mahazedi Pagoda, Kyaik Pun (Four Face) Pagoda and Chinese Temple. Drive back to Yangon. Overnight at Hotel.

Sightseeing Mandalay to Mahagandaryone Monastery for offering alm food to thousand monks, U Pain Wooden bridge, Mahamuni Image – a bronze Buddha image castled during the lifetime of Buddha himself, Tapestry works, Wood carving & bronze castling workshops, Marble carving workshop and silk weaving home cottage. Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, continues to Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monstery – noted for its exquisite wood carvings, gold leaf beating workshop, Atumashi Monstery, Kuthodaw Pagoda – known as the world biggest book and finish the tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to watch the sun-set and the panoramic view of the city. Dinner at restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 6 : Mandalay – Maymyo @ Pyin Oo Lwin . ( B/L)
Breakfast at Hotel. Proceed to Maymyo about 42 miles east of Mandalay. Visit Paikchinmyaung Cave and Maha Ant Htoo Kanthar Phayagyi (The Great Lucky Wonderful Buddha). Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, visit B.E Water Fall, 96 acres of Botanical Garden. Drive back to Mandalay. Dinner at restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7 : Mandalay – Heho / Inle by morning flight. (B/L)
Breakfast at Hotel. After breakfast, Transfer to airport for Heho / Inle. Drive to Nyaung Shwe. Day 9 : Kalaw / Heho – Yangon by morning flight. (B/L)
Breakfast at Hotel. Fly back to Yangon. Check in Hotel. Visit Buddha Tooth Relic Pagoda, Kaba Aye (World Peace) Pagoda, Maha Pasana Cave, Jade Factory,. Lunch at restaurant. After lunch, visit to Glass making factory, Bogyoke (Scott) Market for free shopping and China Town. Dinner at restaurant. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 10 : Departure from Yangon. (B)

Day 2 : Yangon-Kyaiktiyo by coach. (B/L)
Leaving Yangon in the morning, enjoy a scenic journey by road to Kyaiktiyo, 190km to the east. One of Myanmar’s great pilgrimage sites is the Golden Rock at Kyaiktiyo, a huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. The pagoda at the Golden Rock is said to hold a hair of the Buddha. Late morning, arrive at Kyaiktiyo base camp and transfer to the transit junction with one of the small open trucks in a one hour ride. After lunch, start an easy walk up to the Golden Rock and enjoy sunset from this unforgettable site. Overnight in Kyaiktiyo.
Day 3 : Kyaiktiyo-Bago-Yangon (B/L)
After breakfast, return to the base-camp by open truck and head in the direction of Yangon for 110km to Bago, an ancient capital dating back to the 6th century. Sightseeing in Bago includes the beautiful 55m long reclining Buddha called Shwethalyaung and the Mon style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most venerated in Myanmar. Its spire stands 114m high and is taller even than the Shwedagon Pagoda. Also visit the old Palace of Kambozathadi and the huge four sitting Buddhas. Return by road to Yangon, visiting the Allied War Cemetery near Htaukkyan, the final resting place for over 27,000 allied soldiers, and a local woven bamboo factory. Transfer back to Yangon. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 4 : Yangon-Heho-Inle Lake by morning flight (B/L)
In the morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho. From Heho, enjoy a scenic drive to Inle Lake, one of Myanmar best-known sights. The Intha people, a tribe of Mon descent, mostly inhabit the lakeshores and floating villages. On arrival at Nyaung Shwe village, transfer by boat to start a sightseeing tour of Inle Lake including a chance to see the leg-rowing fishermen. Continue to see the floating gardens, built up from strips of water hyacinth and mud and anchored to the bottom with bamboo poles. There are also floating villages like Ywama, the lake’s downtown, where a floating market is held every five days. In the afternoon continue to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and the jumping cat monastery. Check into hotel in the afternoon. Overnight at Inle Lake.
Day 5 : Inle Lake-In Dein-Inle Lake (B/L)
After breakfast, transfer by motorboat to In Dein, an off-the-beaten-track site in the south of the lake. From Ywama, the boat leaves the lake and enters a narrow canal leading to a small Pa O tribe village. From the market place of the village, follow an old covered path to a 13th century monastery and the very impressive ruins of hundreds of ancient pagodas, some hidden in the vegetation. The main stupa-area on the top of the hill offers breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains and down to the valley and the lake in the far distance. Return to the lake and transfer back to hotel in the afternoon. Overnight at Inle Lake.
Day 6 : Inle Lake-Pindaya-Heho-Mandalay by evening flight. (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, leave by boat and car to enjoy a scenic drive to Pindaya through the picturesque countryside of Shan State. Visit Pindaya’s limestone cave with its maze of chambers displaying more than 8,000 Buddha statues and local handicraft workshops producing Shan paper made from mulberry bark and traditional umbrellas made from the same paper that are used by monks all around the country. Then transfer to Heho Airport for the short flight to Mandalay. Transfer to hotel on arrival. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 7 : Mandalay-Amarapura-Ava-Sagaing-Mandalay by car. (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel depart for full day trip to the former capitals of Amarapua, Ava and Sagaing. The day begins with a visit to the 18th century capital, Amarapura. Attend the daily meal of over a thousand monks at the country’s largest monastery, Mahagandayon. Visit a silk weaving workshop, the craft speciality of Amarapura. Proceed to Ava, the capital from 14th to 18th centuries and visit by horse and carriage the old wooden Bagaya Monastery and the remains of the Royal Palace and fort. In the afternoon cross the bridge over the Irrawaddy River and continue to Sagaing. Covered with 600 white-painted pagodas and monasteries, Sagaing Hill is widely regarded as the religious centre of Myanmar and is home to 3,000 monks and 100 meditation centres. Finish the day with a walk at sunset over the 200 year-old U Bein Bridge, constructed entirely from teak. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 8 : Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay by boat. (B/L)
After breakfast, transfer to the jetty and board a private chartered boat for an excursion over the Irrawaddy River towards the former capital of Mingun. After a 45 minute cruise, arrive in Mingun famous for its huge unfinished pagoda also home to the Mingun Bell, considered as the world’s largest uncracked ringing bell. Also visit the beautiful white Hsinbyume Pagoda. Return by boat to Mandalay. In the afternoon visit the Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures (known as the world’s biggest book), Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite woodcarving and the impressive Kyauktawgyi Pagoda with its huge sitting Buddha. Enjoy the sunset from Mandalay Hill for panoramic view of city. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 9 : Mandalay-Monywa-Po Win Daung-Monywa by boat/car. (B/L)
Leave Mandalay for a 3 hour drive to Moniwa, a typical Burmese town on the banks of the Chindwin River. On the way, visit Thanboddhay Pagoda, where more than 500,000 Buddha images cover every wall and archway of this huge Buddhist temple. Also visit Bodihtataung Pagoda and the largest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar, 100m long and 27m high. Cross the Chindwin River by ferry and proceed to Po Win Daung by local open jeep. This extraordinary complex consists of 947 sandstone caves dug out of the hills and contains what is considered by archaeologists to be the richest collection of mural paintings and Buddhist statues in South-East Asia. Recently opened to foreigners, Po Win Daung with its unique, precious frescoes, some dating from the early 17th century, is a must to see for anyone with an interest in Buddhist Arts. A few hundred metres from the caves is Shwe Ba Daung, another very interesting site where monasteries and temples are carved out of narrow cliffs. Overnight in Monywa.
Day 10 : Monywa-Pakkoku-Bagan by boat. (B/L)
After breakfast at the hotel, leave Moniwa along the rarely visited east bank of the river passing traditional villages where farmers climb the palm trees to extract the juice from which they produce palm tree sugar. Stop in Pakkangyi to visit one of the oldest surviving wooden monasteries in Myanmar. Continue 20km south to Pakokku. A lively, typical Burmese city with a strong craftwork tradition producing colourful woven blankets, papier-mâché toys and traditional sandals. Continue by boat across the river to arrive in Bagan at the end of the day. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 11 : Bagan Css. (B/L)

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Myinkaba village and observe the process of traditional lacquerware, one of the best-known Myanmar handicrafts and a speciality of Bagan. Visit the monuments of Myinkaba village, Gubyaukkhi, an early period Pyu-style temple of Hindu influence with some of the oldest mural paintings in Bagan, Manuha and Nanpaya temples. In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to the countryside village of Minnanthu, the least visited temple area in Bagan. Observe the local farmers‘ way of life together with a visit to some of the most interesting temples such as Payathonzu, with its unusual architecture and Tantric Buddhism influence, Lemyethna and Nandamannya temples. In the late afternoon transfer to Nyaung Oo Airport for the flight back to Yangon. Transfer to hotel on arrival. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 13 : Depart Yangon (B/L)
After breakfast finish the tour with a visit to downtown Yangon with its faded colonial atmosphere, Sule Pagoda, Mahabandoola Park, India town and bustling Chinatown. In the afternoon there is free time for shopping at Bogyoke Market, formerly Scott’s Market before transferring to Mingaladon Airport for onward flight.
